January 12th, 2017 was a special day! Brooklyn’s father, Nick, was joined by Jenny Mosier (#defeatDIPG), Lawrence Fagan (retired medical researcher / DIPG advocate), and Keren Beukema (recently lost her son Vincent to DIPG) as a guest on Childhood Cancer Talk Radio. The discussion centered around a resolution intended to designate May 17th as National DIPG Awareness Day; a day set annually to bring awareness to the most deadly pediatric brain tumor that currently has no known cure.

More about DIPG Awareness Day

In 2016, May 17th was proclaimed DIPG Awareness Day in Maryland by Governor Larry Hogan in honor of Michael Mosier, lost to DIPG on this day the year prior. During a conversation, Nick Smith, Brooklyn’s father, brought the idea to Jenny Mosier that he would like to do the same here in the state of Kentucky. This conversation became the catalyst for the desire to make this a nationwide designation.

We hope you join us in support and hope. Download / listen to the podcast and offer a prayer and a smile for Brooklyn and all children who face this fight against DIPG.
